A new collective agreement was reached between the Finnish Transport Workers’ Union (AKT) and the Finnish Port Operators’ Association yesterday 01.03.2023.
This ends the stevedoring strike that practically has closed Finland’s ports for the past two weeks.
The labor disputes between the parties in the truck sector, tanker and petroleum products sectors, and terminals sectors have also been agreed and strikes in these fields are also called off.
Ahola Transport was not directly affected by the labor disputes and strikes, but indirectly it has affected our operating environment. In the aftermath of the strikes, large volumes of cargo are waiting to be shipped from Finland, which may lead to longer lead times than normal.
