Update: strikes in Finland affecting freight traffic 14.-16.2.2024

Dear Customer,
The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) and its affiliated trade unions have announced three-day political strikes in Finland between 14.2.-16.2.2024. In addition to the previously announced Industrial Union and PAM, The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT has now also joined the strike.

The stevedorer’s strike will take place from 14.2.2024 klo 06.00 to 17.2.2024 klo 06.00. This work stoppage means that no unmanned vehicles will be handled in Finnish ports during the strike.

While the strike will not directly impact Ahola Transport’s operations, they are still likely to have indirect effects on our operating environment. This can mean changes in the freight balances, disruptions in the ferry traffic, and delays during unloading and loading. These factors may lead to longer lead times than usual.
