The power to celebrate – Mika Törrö at Ahola’s 70th anniversary celebrations in Naantali

Ahola’s 70th anniversary celebrations in Naantali brought together the company’s staff, their families, customers, partners, and friends to commemorate Ahola’s long history. One of the most anticipated guests of the evening was Finland’s strongest man, Mika Törrö from Joensuu. His presence in the midst of the audience was a tangible reminder that there’s more to strength than simply physical power; strength also means responsibility and caring.

Behind the collaboration

Törrö and Ahola have been collaborating for several years. Their first joint event was the annual Trucker’s Evening for drivers at our Naantali location and since then, the collaboration has grown into a close partnership. For Törrö, the opportunity to partner with Ahola is a valuable one:

– It’s a great honor to be a partner and brand ambassador for such an important company. I’m really grateful to have earned such trust placed in me, says Törrö.

According to Törrö, Ahola has shown that employee well-being and social responsibility go hand in hand. Those are also the values that make their collaboration feel natural.

Strong people aren’t bullies – a touching message

The overarching theme of the collaboration is “Strong people aren’t bullies”, which is reflected in school visits, scholarships, and company events. The subject is a deeply moving one for Törrö, who has first-hand experience of both being bullied and being the bully.

– Words can hurt terribly. I want people to stop and think about what it would be like to be in someone else’s shoes. As adults we have a huge responsibility to set an example in how we should treat others, Törrö adds.

His message is clear: strength is shown through everyday actions and the ability to do the right thing. Törrö encourages people to talk about difficult things and ask for help, even when it feels difficult.

The visitor who left his mark

Törrö sparked meaningful conversations and genuine interest among the guests at the Naantali celebration. His presence brought a fresh perspective, reminding us that Ahola Transport’s jubilee year is not only a time to reflect on the past, but also to look ahead to the future and to responsible business.

Ahola and Törrö are committed to a common goal: building a stronger and safer society where everyone is treated with respect.
