Introducing Ahola Academy
To address the shortage of drivers and transport entrepreneurs, we are piloting Ahola Academy at the turn of the year.
Ahola Academy, an internal training pathway by Ahola Transport, is designed for individuals over 21 who aspire to become drivers or transport entrepreneurs. Candidates should already possess a B or C class driving license but lack professional driver qualifications or the necessary license class. The training is comparable to an apprenticeship, with practical tasks performed at the workplace and theoretical studies are completed independently, such as in the evenings or on weekends.
The training pathway offers significant advantages over traditional educational institutions. Ahola Academy students receive personalized training plans and individual guidance, ensuring each student is seen and heard as an individual.
Part of the training includes a mentor-driver program. Each student is assigned a mentor who is familiar with the industry and clients, providing support throughout the training and even after graduation if needed.
The goal is for trainees to find employment quickly. The fastest completion time for Ahola Academy’s employment-focused training is just a few months from the start of their studies. This is a significant advantage compared to traditional educational institutions, where driver training takes 1.5–3 years.
