The Finnish Transport Workers' Union AKT has declared an illegal handling blockade concerning Finnlines vessels. The blockade is illegal. It began on Thursday, 10 March 2011 at 6.00 and will end on Saturday, 12 March at 06.00. During the blockade, stevedores will not load or discharge cargo on Finnlines vessels in any Finnish ports which causes severe delays.
Blockade does not affect Finnsteve companies other port operations in Helsinki, Turku and Kotka ports.
