Walkout of stevedoors at Finnsteve Oy Ab at the Vuosaari Harbour
3.3.2011The stevedores of Finnsteve Oy Ab at the Vuosaari Harbour left their work sites yesterday afternoon. According to the stevedores' representatives the strike will end on Saturday 5 March 2011 at 3.30 pm. Additionally, the Finnsteve layoff negotiations have already earlier led to an overtime ban both in Vuosaari and some other ports. Thus these industrial actions will affect both import and export traffics at least the whole next week.
The bankruptcy estate of RG Lines continues with the traffic between Vaasa and Umeå as from 4.12.2011.
2.12.2011According to information from the shipping company the ferry operates according to previous time schedule.
The shipping company RG-Line operating between Vaasa and Umeå filed for bankruptcy 29.11.0211.
1.12.2011This means there is currently no ferry service across the Gulf of Bothnia which leads to missed timetable on certain freight flows and to additional costs which may arise. Customers who are severely affected by the change will be contacted personally. The change in general concerns cross border transports to and from Northern Scandinavia.

24.11.2011This autumn Ahola Transport has made some changes in the transports to and from Western Europe. The operation has been divided among three cooperative partners who have in whole or in part taken over responsibility for the transports.
The Finnish Transport Workers' Union AKT has declared an illegal handling blockade concerning Finnlines vessels
22.3.2011The blockade is illegal. It begins on Wednesday, 23 March 2011 at 6.00 and will end on Friday, 25 March at 06.00. During the blockade, stevedores will not load or discharge cargo on Finnlines vessels in any Finnish ports which causes severe delays.

10.3.2011The Finnish Transport Workers' Union AKT has declared an illegal handling blockade concerning Finnlines vessels. The blockade is illegal. It began on Thursday, 10 March 2011 at 6.00 and will end on Saturday, 12 March at 06.00. During the blockade, stevedores will not load or discharge cargo on Finnlines vessels in any Finnish ports which causes severe delays.
